Under the Weather

I feel horrible and have since yesterday.  I also haven’t felt up to posting much of anything thanks to the bipolar crap.  Good thing my doctor visit is coming up soon.  Another doctor gave me blood pressure pills and I haven’t felt right since I took those for two days.  I quit after that and still don’t feel good.  Been thinking about death, which is never a good thing.  Thinking about situations where people died can cause problems, but have been thinking a lot about my Mother and the time of the last month before her death.  It’s almost been a year.

Nashville Zoo Visit

Last Thursday James, Destiny, Tori and I drove to the Nashville Zoo for the first time.  It was Destiny’s idea and we needed to get out for a bit so we both thought it was a good idea.  It was cheap to get in, only $14 apiece, but the line we had to stand in just to pay our way in was long.  Luckily they had another person come over to help.  It wouldn’t have been a big deal if I hadn’t of drank coffee that morning and really needed a bathroom break.  The two little stores they had there were of no consequence and had nothing that we wanted.  A key chain with the zoo name would have been nice, although just another trinket to throw in a drawer, so all in all it was no major loss.  The girls got a rock candy stick (with their money), and we just shared a drink.  The zebra picture turned out really well so I had to stick it up here.  Used to be that I’d use that picture in a stationery graphic but those days are past.  Don’t the girls look so cute?  I guess that they had a good time, although I had to wonder if for them it wasn’t just getting out of the house to go somewhere.  We stopped and ate at an Ihop after leaving the zoo and it honestly is nowhere near as good as the Waffle House.  They didn’t even give us toast with our meal, which was a little odd I thought.  I can’t really say much about the zoo because I wasn’t impressed and can’t think of any reason why I’d want to go back.

Under the Weather

Last Friday I started having tooth pain which then progressed into a full-blown abscess.  It’s been a while since I had one of those and the reality of it’s pain wasn’t remembered for as bad as it really is.  It feels like something is eating into you, maybe how acid might feel although I wouldn’t know that.  By Sunday the pain had gotten so bad that I asked my husband to take me to the Emergency Room.  We were lucky in that there were no other patients; imagine that on Easter, no patients!  Nurse takes my temp and blood pressure; turns out the bp was 196, I don’t recall the bottom number though because the 196 bombed me.  That is way too close to stroke range.  They gave me an antibiotic, a blood pressure pill and one lousy Tylenol #3 which did nothing whatsoever to help the pain.  I actually hurt worse when I was walking out of the hospital than when I went in.  Two Tylenols helped better and on one occasion I even took three.  Doctors should consider that not everyone who comes to see them for pain control is doing it to cover their habits, they might actually have real pain.  No thanks to him except for the antibiotic which is what I knew I needed in the first place.  I never asked for pain control when I talked to the triage nurse.  Oh well.

Canon Powershot 1100

Canon Powershot 1100

Canon Powershot 1100

I just purchased this camera yesterday to keep available in my pocketbook and so far I like it.  One feature that I did not know about was that when you turn the camera, the picture turns too (in preview mode).  That is so cool.  It has a zoom on the front which makes zooming much easier than having to use one on the back.  It uses lithium batteries so you do not have to recharge it for some time.  Way better than a camera using AA batteries which do not last but a couple of days.  Just turn it on and shoot, that is so easy and doesn’t require a lot of setup; in fact I made none other than to set it to show a date.  I like it.

Moving a Wordpress Blog Has Drawbacks

When I decided to change the server for my four websites, I knew that there was going to be trouble.  And I was right.  I knew how to save the sql files and I did backups.  I even tried exporting.  One of my sites was so large that it would not work.  I had to change the name-server back to the old server in order to get these files as even cpanel would not work.  I find myself now without those fils that I would need.  I went to the Wordpress forums to look for suggestions on how to move the blog and I came up empty-handed.  Make sure that you know how to do this and do it before moving your blog.
